LÉONOR BERREHAR
Born in 1993, Léonor Berrehar is a French artist and designer. After getting a degree in literature and studying art criticism at Central Saint Martins in London, she graduated from a master’s degree in textile design at EnsAD Paris. While developing her own artistic practice, she has kept on working with fabrics as well as ceramics and creates set designs for the food scene. Frequently invited for artist residencies, she lives between Paris and Brussels where she established her studio.
Leonor questions the codes of writing by creating alphabet systems as a leitmotif, a perpetual attempt to access what relies between the readable and the unreadable, and to repair broken connections. Alphabets become patterns whose meanings, holes or enigmatic puzzles, certainly echo with the lost language and culture from her Vietnamese roots.
